"The curious paradox is that when I accept my self as I am, then I can change."

Therapy with me
Compassion and expertise
I became a psychologist for a multitude of reasons and found my niche somewhat accidentally. At it’s core though it’s a deep trust in the impact of non-judgemental, thoughtful and skilled compassion. So I chose to make a space that honours that.
Every person I work with is different. The services here offer a starting point, but our work together will always be shaped around you, your circumstances, and what you hope to get from our sessions.
Just the space you've been looking for.
My work is rooted in person-centred care and ACT (Acceptance & Commitment therapy). I have a psychodynamic background and a research interest in attachment theory.
The combination of these modalities are helpful in connecting the dots, making sense of things as they are, while exploring how they came to be.
I don't give advice because I don't have a preconceived idea of what you should or shouldn't do. I trust that you inherently know what is best, and I'm happy to walk this journey towards yourself and find what that is.
I work with individuals navigating a wide range of experiences.
Areas I typically work in:
- Anxiety, stress, and overwhelm
- Depression and low mood
- Relationship and family difficulties
- Medical Psychology (working alongside those with a medical diagnosis)
- Neurodivergence: including late-diagnosed ASD and ADHD
- Queer folk and gender identity
- High-pressure work environments / burnout
- Adjustment disorders
Frequently Asked Questions
My practice is offers in-person sessions in Cape Town, South Africa and online sessions.
A little about how I typically work – the clinical assessment starts from the first session, which would be an opportunity for me to get a more detailed understanding of any difficulties you are experiencing. It will also allow for us both to get a better sense of each other and whether or not we could be a good therapeutic fit moving forward.
After the first consultation, if we both feel it would be beneficial to continue with the therapy process, then we will book follow up sessions. I generally see clients weekly and the first two to three sessions form part of a clinical assessment which involves me getting a thorough background history.
You might also be asked to complete some screening forms and we will clarify therapy goals together. After this we will discuss a proposed number of sessions for therapy.
You are welcome to be in touch if you have any other questions.
Please be aware that consultations that are missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be billed.
Online therapy offers a convenient alternative to face-to-face counselling, proving beneficial in addressing a number of challenges. However, it’s important to acknowledge its limitations and understand that it is not a good fit for everyone. The absence of in-person interaction might affect the relational aspect of therapy.
Additionally, if you’re struggling with severe depression, substantial substance dependence, or experiencing intense suicidal or homicidal thoughts, online therapy is not a suitable medium to use. In such cases, seeking an in-person session with a mental health professional is suggested.
All practice fees must be settled by the client on the day of consultation, or the day prior to the scheduled appointment.
